Update: Lockdown at Estevan's hospital ends after serious incidents in the city

St. Joseph's Hospital in Estevan has been on lockdown Wednesday morning due to incidents in the city.

ESTEVAN - Emergency crews were called to the scene of an incident at the Estevan Police Service's building Wednesday morning.

Traffic was being diverted from the 1100-block of Fourth Street, and ambulances were seen in the back alley behind the police station.

It has been confirmed by the Estevan Police Service that two people, including a member of the EPS, suffered serious injuries in an incident at the police station. The person involved in the incident with the officer was also involved in an incident in the 1200-block of Sixth Street that sent another person to hospital with serious injuries.

A sign posted in front of St. Joseph's Hospital says the facility is currently in lockdown, and it was only taking patients for emergencies. The lockdown at the hospital has since been lifted.

The STARS Air Ambulance reported it had been dispatched to a scene-call emergency in Estevan.
