ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service dealt with a report of a possible abduction on Dec. 26.
A local citizen received a call from a female who gave a name and location. Members had to initially alert another police agency, and then work with a telecommunications company to identify a phone number and locate its whereabouts.
Two females, ages 12 and 13, were identified as pulling a prank. They were spoken to and their parents were advised. Both girls understood the seriousness of what they did and are remorseful for their actions.
Also, members attended to a motor vehicle collision in east central Estevan on Dec. 28 that resulted in both involved vehicles being towed from the scene due to the damage sustained. A northbound SUV attempted a left turn at an intersection in the path of a southbound SUV, causing the collision. The driver of the northbound vehicle was charged under the Traffic Safety Act for not yielding to an approaching vehicle while turned left.
The public is reminded to reduce speeds and drive carefully, especially in light of the recent snow fall which has made driving somewhat treacherous.
