ESTEVAN - Estevan city council has approved the committees its members will serve on in 2024.
Mayor Roy Ludwig will be part of the economic development board, the emergency measures organization, the Estevan board of police commissioners, the CPKC Rail community advisory panel, the Estevan Housing Authority's board, the RM of Estevan/City of Estevan liaison committee and the Southern Coal transition committee.
Coun. Lindsay Clark will be on the management board for the Downtown Business Improvement District, the RM of Estevan liaison committee, the Souris Valley Museum board, the SMILE Services board and the South East Transportation Planning Committee.
Coun. Rebecca Foord's committees include the police board, the Estevan Exhibition Association's board, the Regional Water Association's board, the RM of Estevan liaison committee and the Southeast Air Shed Association.
Coun. Travis Frank has been appointed to the Creighton Lodge management committee, the Estevan Arts Council board, the Souris Valley Theatre board and the Woodlawn Regional Park authority.
Coun. Tony Sernick's appointments include the economic development board, the police board, the Estevan Bruins/Estevan Minor Hockey Association boards and the Southern Coal transition committee.
Coun. Shelly Veroba is to be on the boards for the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum, the Estevan Public Library, the Southeast Regional Library and St. Joseph's Hospital board.
Coun. Kirsten Walliser will be on the airport liaison committee, the Estevan Curling Club board, the Estevan Humane Society board and the Woodlawn Regional Park authority.
Council also approved the appointments of Roberta DeRosier and Jacie Vandermeulen to the Estevan board of police commissioners. DeRosier is completing her first two-year term on the board, while Vandermeulen is new.
John Siggers, who moved to Estevan earlier this year, also applied to be on the police board.
Bernadette Wright, who spent several years as a member at large on the board, decided not to seek another two-year term.
The city also appointed Jim Scott and Andrew Michalski to the development appeals board, while Western Municipal Consulting Ltd. will have individuals available for the board of revision.
