ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service apprehended an impaired driver on Saturday.
A 63-year-old Estevan man was arrested, after he supplied samples of breath 1 1/2 times the legal limit. He is scheduled to appear in court later in the year.
In other recent police news, officers received a disturbance call in east Estevan on Thursday. Police attended and spoke to the individual involved and the matter was resolved.
Members were called to a report of a male driver causing a disturbance at a construction site. Police later located the male and spoke to him. The EPS said the dispute was over traffic in and around the construction site.
Officers received a report of an Estevan male, currently on release conditions, who reportedly breached his conditions. He was contacted, educated about his conditions and warned not to put himself in a position of being arrested for a breach.
Police arrested a 31-year-old woman from Estevan for an outstanding warrant. She was released with a court appearance in November to speak to her charges.
Members received a call for a suspicious male going through a yard in the Pleasantdale area. He was located and spoken to. The matter remains under investigation.
Police responded to a motion alarm at a business in the industrial area. The building was found to be secure. High winds might have caused the alarm.
Officers received a call through the Report Impaired Drivers line Friday. The caller complained about how the vehicle was being driven and thought it might be an impaired driver. The vehicle was located and the driver was not impaired by alcohol or drug. It was a new motorist learning how to drive.
Police received a call from an emotional and distraught individual on Saturday. They attended and spoke to the individual for a period of time and were able to calm the situation. Supports have been offered.
Members received an anonymous RID call. Officers were able to locate the individual, who was not impaired.
Police received a report of a lost or stolen wallet. The individual had been out for the evening and the wallet went missing at a local liquor establishment. Police were able to later determine that the individual left their wallet at a different liquor establishment earlier on in the evening. Police retrieved it and delivered the wallet to the owner.
