ESTEVAN - The Estevan Police Service is investigating a theft from a local business.

The incident took place in downtown Estevan on the afternoon of Aug. 23. A photo has been posted.

The information was released early Tuesday morning in a post on the Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network. In an updated message just before noon, the EPS said the suspect had turned himself in.

In other recent police news, officers arrested and charged a 35-year-old Estevan man for dangerous driving on Sunday. He was released on conditions before a Justice of the Peace and will appear in court in November to answer to the charge.

Police received a 911 hang up call from a local business. Members attended and determined there was an unruly customer in the store who was refusing to leave. The individual left prior to police arriving.

Officers received a separate call from another local business. The business was also having difficulty with an unruly customer. The individual left prior to police arriving. Police located the male and spoke to him about his behaviour.

Police received a report of an attempt scam. The complainant received an email from Canada Recovery Benefit, alleging they would receive $600 if they followed through with the link attached to the email. The complainant did not follow through and correctly identified it as a scam attempt. Police remind the public that if sounds to go to be true it probably is.

The Saskatchewan Highway Patrol suspended the driver’s licence of a man from Caron. He was dropped off at an associate’s residence in Estevan to spend the night. Police received a call a short time later that a male was intoxicated and staggering in traffic on Highway 39. Police attended and arrested the Caron male for being intoxicated in public and lodged him cells until sober for his own protection.
