Estevan police officers arrest one person three times for public intoxication

Police also called about an assault, an impaired driver, a stolen vehicle and more.

ESTEVAN - It was a busy weekend for members of the Estevan Police Service, as they received 49 calls.

Police were called to various local businesses throughout the weekend regarding an intoxicated 34-year-old man from Saddle Lake, Alta. He was arrested three times for public intoxication and lodged in cells on all three nights. He has subsequently been charged accordingly under the Alcohol Gaming and Regulations Act. He was released for the third time Monday morning.

Officers received reports of two incidents involving someone who failed to remain at the scene of an accident. Parked vehicles were struck by another vehicle in a parking lot. The matters are still under investigation.

Police received a report of mischief to property at a local business. The matter is still under investigation.

Members are investigating a fraud and impersonation incident. An individual or individuals used fraudulently-obtained personal documentation to obtain credit. Officers remind the public to ensure that when you move, your mail is forwarded with Canada Post.

Police performed a search on a residence in which the homeowner is on conditions for outstanding charges. The 37-year-old homeowner was arrested for possession of meth and breaching her release conditions.

A 23-year-old Oxbow man was arrested and charged with impaired driving. His licence was suspended and vehicle seized, and he was released to appear in court to answer to his charges at a later date.

A 48-year-old man was charged with assault and released with no-contact conditions. He will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.

Police received a report of a stolen automobile. A 2013 black Dodge Dart with licence plate 914 MIB was taken. Anyone who sees this vehicle is asked to contact the EPS.
