Estevan Police respond to accidents and a mischief incident

A couple of reported collisions, a mischief case and a missing child were among the calls.

ESTEVAN - The Estevan Police Service handled a variety of calls for service during the weekend. 

Officers were called to the Hillside area Dec. 3 after they received a report of a motor vehicle accident and a vehicle being stuck on the front lawn of a residence. Members attended and issued a traffic ticket for the accident. There were no injuries reported.

Police received a number of requests to perform wellness checks on people. Members were able to locate the individuals and connect them with resources.

Members received a report of failing to remain at the scene of an accident. The police were able to get a description of the offending vehicle with the use of video from a business. The offending vehicle and driver were located a short time later. The matter is still under investigation.

Police observed a 19-year-old Carnduff man damaging a street sign on Fourth Street. He was arrested, charged with mischief under $5,000 and given a court date for early January 2023.

Officers received a report of a missing child on Dec. 4. Members located the child with his father a short time later. They had gone sledding without letting the rest of the family know.

Police attended to a disturbance in the west end of the city. Officers were able to mediate a resolution. One of the parties left the residence for the evening.

Members received a report of an erratic driver. Police located the vehicle and the driver was warned about their driving.
