Estevan police responds to close to 50 calls over the weekend

ESTEVAN — The Estevan Police Service responded to 48 calls for service from March 31-April 2.

Numerous traffic stops were conducted, which resulted in 11 tickets under the Traffic Safety Act. Police also received a complaint of erratic driving, and that matter remains under investigation.

Police attended to four calls categorized as domestic disturbances. In all four calls, no assaults had taken place, only verbal disagreements. Police were able to speak with all parties involved and mediate situations.

Police received three calls of Report Impaired Driver (RID). Members were able to locate two of the three drivers and both were found to be sober. The third call, members patrolled the area, however, the driver was never located.

The EPS was called to a local liquor establishment for a report of mischief. Two patrons had pulled the fire alarm and then ran away. The matter remains under investigation.

Police received a report of a suspicious person looking in a homeowner's yard. The matter remains under investigation.

Police were called for a report of a possible fight outside a residential complex. Members arrived on scene and determined that it was not a physical fight but rather an argument. Both parties were spoken to and sent home.

Police are also investigating a report of uttering threats. Members are waiting on statements, and the matter remains under investigation.
