Free swimming, fireworks slated for Weyburn’s Canada Day celebration

The City of Weyburn is excited to celebrate Canada Day and host various family events throughout July 1.

The City of Weyburn is excited to celebrate Canada Day and host various family events throughout July 1.

The day starts with a flag ceremony led by the Royal Canadian Legion’s Colour Guard on the Weyburn Leisure Centre (WLC) outdoor grounds, starting at 10 a.m. Event capacity is up to 150 people on a first come, first serve basis and patrons must check-in at the WLC front desk upon arrival.

Three public swim times on July 1 are to be held following the ceremony. Registration through the City’s online booking portal is required in advance of the free swim times:

• 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. 


• 1-3 p.m. 


• 3:30-5 p.m.


A fireworks display is slated to begin at dusk, approximately 10:30 p.m., at the Exhibition Grounds accessible off Mergens Street.

The City of Weyburn asks that all provincial guidelines for gathering and physical distancing are followed.
