Grenfell man charged after Regina police recover $38,000 in stolen property

One individual is facing several charges after an investigation by the Regina Police Service found more than $38,000 worth of stolen property.

REGINA — One individual is facing several charges after an investigation by the Regina Police Service found more than $38,000 worth of stolen property.

The Online Stolen Property Unit received an alert on July 8 of a suspicious man selling brand-new merchandise online.

Investigation over the next several days led to the recovery of household items confirmed to have been stolen from a local business, including camping supplies, power tools, a wakeboard and others.

Police members found the items stored in a hotel room, vehicle and storage locker in Regina. They also recovered a firearm during the investigation.

Joseph Evrard, 56, of Grenfell, was taken into custody and charged with possession of property obtained by crime, possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm and careless storage of a firearm.

Evrard made his first appearance in provincial court on Tuesday morning.
