A homicide investigation is currently underway in Estevan, after a man was located deceased in his residence in the 800-block of Henry Street.
The Estevan Police Service (EPS) received a missing person’s complaint on Monday evening at around 6:30 p.m. Angelo Galido, 55, of Estevan failed to arrive for work that day, which was described as being uncommon. Around 10:30 p.m. Monday night, the Estevan Police Service located Mr. Galido deceased inside his residence in the 800 block of Henry Street in Estevan.
His family has been notified of his death.
An autopsy was completed Tuesday in Regina and Mr. Galido’s death is considered a homicide. The cause of death will not be released as it is part of the ongoing investigation.
Initial investigation has determined Galido was last seen at a business off Highway 39 in Estevan on Friday at approximately 10 p.m. Investigators are working to establish a timeline of:
- When and where Galido was last seen between 10 p.m. on Friday night and when he was discovered deceased on Monday night; and
- Any suspicious activity on the 800 block of Henry Street in Estevan from Friday to Monday.

The RCMP Major Crime Unit North has taken the lead at the request of the EPS, who also continue to actively assist with this ongoing investigation. It is common for policing agencies in the province to work together and provide support as needed and requested. Also assisting are the EPS Forensic Identification Services and Yorkton RCMP Forensic Identification Services.
The RCMP says there will continue to be an increased police presence around Henry Street in Estevan for the remainder of this week.
There is no increased risk to the public at this time, according to the RCMP.
This is the first homicide to occur in Estevan since April 2014.
