House explosion in Regina

REGINA - There has been a major explosion at a house location in north central Regina.

The explosion happened at a residence at the corner of 6th Avenue and Retallack Street in Regina, and there is word there might be injuries. The incident took place around 10:47 a.m. on Sunday morning.

According to social media, the explosion was so strong that it was heard by residents for miles in the city. One social media post reported blown-out windows down the block near the scene. Another who lives close by stated on social media "it honestly felt like we were being bombed."

Regina Fire and Protective Services posted the following on Twitter at 11:37 a.m.:  @Regina_Fire, @reginapolice and Regina EMS on scene of a major explosion at 6th and Retallack St. Possible injuries reported, public is asked to stay clear of that area. Updates will be provided when available. #yqr

Regina Fire also posted a photo of the scene, in which the house had completely collapsed.
