Individual wanted following high-speed pursuit near Estevan has been arrested

ESTEVAN - The man who was wanted in connection with a pursuit that occurred in the Estevan area on New Year’s Day has been arrested.

According to the Estevan Police Service, 32-year-old Dustin Clarke-Rusnack of Pilot Butte was located and apprehended on outstanding warrants over the weekend by the RCMP in Yorkton. He will appear in Provincial Court to answer to his charges.

Clarke-Rusnack was wanted by the EPS after an incident on New Years Day in the city. Members stopped a vehicle that was heading into Estevan on Highway 39. Police were attempting to arrest the individual when he fled the scene at a high rate of speed. 

Officers deployed a tire deflation device but were not successful in stopping the vehicle. Due to public safety concerns, the EPS did not pursue the vehicle into or through the city.

He was wanted locally on charges of flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and obstructing a police officer.
