Kyle Fiddler faces numerous child porn charges. He is also charged with breaching an order by Toronto Police banning him from using a computer to communicate with youth under the age of 16.

ESTEVAN – A Saskatchewan man arrested on child porn charges has had numerous court appearances the last 14 months and on Monday it was adjourned to Feb. 17, 2022.

Thirty-year-old Kyle Mansil Fiddler was arrested in October 2020. Once his case comes back up in court in February it will be 16 months since his arrest. In 2016 the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that provincial court cases must be heard within 18 months and superior court cases within 30 months or they could be thrown out of court.

Fiddler still hasn’t entered a plea or elected how he wants to be tried. He was arrested Oct. 21, 2020, after the Saskatchewan Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) obtained a search warrant for his Estevan home where they allegedly found child porn. Police seized his cell phone and computer for further forensic analysis.

Police say they launched the investigation after they received numerous complaints that someone was distributing child porn on social media. The investigation led police to Fiddler’s residence.

Fiddler is also charged with failing to comply with an order of prohibition. According to court records, this charge stems from a Toronto Police file where Fiddler was banned from using a computer to communicate with youth under the age of 16.

The charges against Fiddler haven’t been proven in court.

Fiddler was released on bail in November 2020.
