BALGONIE - Two Esterhazy residents facing drug trafficking charges following their arrest last month in Balgonie were back in court Monday.

On Jan. 10, Mounties arrested three people at a business at the junction of Highways 1 and 46, and during a search of the suspects and their vehicle, officers found 58 grams of cocaine, a small amount of fentanyl and cash.

One of the three people was released without charges, but two others – 49-year-old Christopher Haines and 49-year-old Christine Duchek  - are each charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, while Duchek was also charged with possession of fentanyl.

Both appeared in Regina Provincial Court Monday, where Duchek’s next appearance was set for Feb. 18, while Haines’ matter was adjourned to March 4.
