The third annual “Thunder on the Prairies” truck and tractor pull is set to rumble at Odessa on the weekend of July 7-8, and organizers are looking for entries of modified trucks and tractors to enter, as well as parade entries.
The antique tractor and modified truck and tractor pulls will start on Friday at 7 p.m., and there will be entertainment provided featuring karaoke with Arden.
Saturday will see a parade held at 12:30 p.m., followed by the antique car and tractor show-and-shine at 1:30 p.m. on Main Street.
The parade will feature the Indian Head Steel Drum Band, the WaWa Shriner mini-cars, horse-and-buggies, antique cars, trucks and tractors, miniature donkeys, horses and cattle. To enter the parade, contact Annette Gaetz at 306-535-5197.
There will be children’s activities from 2-5 p.m., monster truck rides for $5 each from 3-6 p.m., and the antique tractors and modified truck and tractor pulls will start up at 6 p.m.
There will be a beer gardens with a live band, Third Degree Birnz, and there will be musical fireworks following the truck and tractor pulls.
The cost for an adult weekend pass is $35, adult day pass is $20, and for children, the weekend pass is $15 and day pass is $10, with preschoolers free. Proceeds from the event will go to the Odessa Community Enhancement Fund.
