ESTEVAN — Wild fire south of Estevan was quickly brought under control and extinguished before 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Firefighters are still on scene monitoring the situation and checking for hotspots.
The fire consumed dry vegetation in the ditch on the north side of Highway 18. It doesn't look like any buildings were damaged by the fire.

Estevan Fire Rescue Service members are currently fighting a grass fire south of the city.
It seems that a wildland fire started in the ditch close to the intersection of Highway 47 South and Highway 18 in front of the SRI Homes yard.
Several fire vehicles are at the scene, and firefighters are trying to contain the fire.
Estevan Police Service is on stage as well.
Visibility is currently low on Highway 18. Drivers should exercise caution when passing through the area.
