ESTEVAN - One person has been arrested after members of the Estevan Police Service received a report of a vehicle theft on Friday.

The vehicle was later located near Gainsborough, more than an hour east of Estevan, and a 21-year-old Estevan man was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

He will be released from custody on conditions.

Members were called to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Westview area of the city. Officers attended and spoke to the individual in the vehicle. The vehicle was lawfully parked on the public street and there was no authority for police to force it to move.

Police received a report of a missing person. The individual was later located and it was determined he was on a curfew. He was arrested for breaching his conditions and later released.

Officers received a request on Wednesday to do a welfare check on an Estevan male. Members attended to his residence and were able to make contact with him. No further services were required.

Police received a complaint that an individual was pushing snow from their property onto a road.  Members attended and warned the individual about the bylaw.

Officers were called to a motor vehicle accident in east Estevan. There were no injuries but one of the vehicles suffered enough damage that it required a tow truck. The matter is still under investigation.
