Regina police, coroners service investigating death in downtown park

A man was reported deceased in an east downtown park yesterday evening, which police are investigating.

The Regina Police Service is working alongside the provincial coroners service to investigate the incident.

REGINA — The Regina Police Service and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service are investigating the death of a man discovered in Regina yesterday. 

On Dec. 16 at approximately 5 p.m., police attended to a call reporting a deceased individual in Greenberg Park, on the 1900 block of Border Street.

The Regina Fire Department was already present when police arrived, and EMS on scene confirmed the adult male was deceased.

The victim has been identified, although police declined to share his information. Next of kin have been notified. 

An investigation into the death is now underway. Police and the coroner's office are asking anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to contact the RPS at 1-306-777-6500 or Regina Crimes Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
