UPDATE: Death investigation by Regina police deemed homicide

Regina police are investigating after a woman was found dead in a downtown home on Wednesday.

Regina Police Service is investigating after a woman was found deceased in a home on Ottawa Street this morning.

Update: 5:34 p.m. — Regina police have now confirmed that a woman found deceased in a downtown home on Wednesday is the victim of the city's ninth homicide this year.

The victim has been identified as Peri Redwood, 24, of Regina. Next-of-kin have been notified of her death. No other details have been made public.

The Major Crimes unit and the Coroner's Service are continuing to investigate, and urge anyone with information to contact the Regina Police Service or Crime Stoppers.

REGINA — Regina police began an investigation into a death reported in a downtown residence today, with requests to the public for assistance. 

At approximately 11 a.m. this morning, officers responded to a house in the 1700 block of Ottawa Street after a death was reported. 

Police discovered the body of one adult female, confirmed to be deceased, on scene. After securing the home as an investigation scene, coroners were dispatched. 

“At this early stage of the investigation, there are no other details for release to the public,” said a statement from the Regina Police Service.

RPS is asking anyone with information that could assist police in their investigation to contact them at 1-306-777-6500 or make a report to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
