REGINA — Regina police have arrested one individual in connection with a break-in at a business’ compound last week, recovering more than $12,000 worth of stolen property.
Police were first dispatched to a compound on the 2800 block of Dewdney Avenue on Nov. 22 at around 8 a.m., for a report of a break and enter.
Upon arrival, officers learned from the complainant that holes had been cut in the fence and several items were removed, including snow-clearing equipment.
Further investigation identified one suspect and after a warranted search of the suspect's property, recovered a snow-blower, among other stolen property.
Dakota Laferte, 25, or Regina has been charged with break and enter, trafficking in property obtained by crime, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and fraud under $5,000.
Laferte made a first appearance on these charges in provincial court on Thursday morning.
