Marivic Viernes plans to share some of her win with friends.

REGINA — Marivic Viernes is $250,000 richer thanks to the Extra she added to her ticket for the Dec. 12 PICK 2 draw. She won by matching all seven digits of the winning Extra number – 5551351.

Viernes purchased her ticket from the Circle K Convenience at 1101-K Kramer Blvd. in Regina the day of the draw and discovered her win the next day when she scanned her ticket using the Lotto Spot app.

“I was talking with my husband the night of the draw when we saw that someone in Regina had won,” Viernes explained as she claimed her prize. “We didn’t expect it would be our ticket.”

So, when they scanned their ticket and discovered their win, they couldn’t believe their eyes.

“I was just crying and crying,” Viernes said. “My husband was with me at the time and asked me to stop crying but I couldn’t help it,” she laughed.

The happy Regina winner said she has a few ideas for her windfall.

“We would like to share some with friends and we’re going on vacation to the Philippines soon so this win will make sure it’s a good vacation,” she explained.
