REGINA — Saskatchewan has updated it’s digital QR code for COVID-19 vaccination to now follow both provincial and federal requirements for proof of vaccination.
The Vax Wallet app has received an update to allow user’s QR code to display a full vaccination certificate, which includes identifiers needed to meet Canada's requirements for vaccination proof in addition to Saskatchewan's.
A “view full vaccination” feature will appear once user’s open their QR codes, provided users update their mobile app.
The change has been made to align with current federal requirements for international travellers, said a release from public health, including those needed for border crossing into the United States.
Previously, the certificate displayed via QR codes only contained information required to meet provincial needs for proof of vaccination policies.
