REGINA - Saskatchewan NDP Leader Carla Beck is drawing attention to a couple of service disruptions to health-care facilities in rural Saskatchewan.
One will occur at the Galloway Health Centre in Oxbow from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. from Jan. 12-13, Jan. 13-14 and Jan 14-15. A service disruption at the Rosthern Hospital started at 8 a.m. on Jan. 12 and will continue until 5 p.m. that day.
During this time, emergency services will not be available.
"Saskatchewan people should not be forced to drive from town to town, looking for emergency services in the dead of winter," Beck said in a news release. "It's dangerously cold. [Premier] Scott Moe and his health minister need to start publishing all of these service closures. We're talking about public safety here."
Emergency services for those in Oxbow can be accessed at St. Joseph's Hospital in Estevan, the Arcola Health Centre and the Redvers Health Centre. A couple of town hall meetings were held in Oxbow last year to discuss the disruptions and how they can be remedied.
Those in Rosthern can access services at Royal University Hospital and St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon, as well as Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert.
