Scholarships, bursaries presented to Comp students

The Weyburn Comprehensive School presented 44 scholarships and bursaries to Grade 12 students who will be pursuing post-secondary education after they graduate.

The Weyburn Comprehensive School presented 44 scholarships and bursaries to Grade 12 students who will be pursuing post-secondary education after they graduate.
The Beta Sigma Phi XiXi bursary of $300 was presented to Emily Richards, who also received one of the Grad 84 Rocks! Bursary of $840, one of the Prairie Sky Co-op scholarships of $1,000, the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce bursary of $500, and the Weyburn Young Fellows Don Murray Memorial bursary of $1,000.
The Capt. Juli-Ann MacKenzie Memorial Bursary of $1,000 was presented to Tyra Sandiford, who also received the Weyburn Comp Kinolta award of $500, and the second Prairie Sky Co-op scholarship of $1,000.
The Crescent Point Energy bursary of $2,000, presented in memory of Ken Cugnet, was awarded to Samuel Ferguson, who also received the Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division bursary of $500.
The Darold Kot Scholarship of $500 was presented to Austin Lund, who also received one of the Tony and Madeleine Moser Memorial Scholarships of $1,000.
The Evan and Mary Goranson Family Scholarship for business, for $2,000, was presented to Cody Schlosser, while the Goranson Family Scholarship for nursing, also for $2,000, went to Kylee Adacsi. Kylee also received the Stella Swertz Nursing Award of $1,000.
The second Grad 84 Rocks! Bursary for $840 went to Cody Moser, and one of two Matthew Mondor Memorial Scholarships for $1,500, and a bursary from the Weyburn branch of the Royal Canadian Legion for $1,000.
The Jerry and Orlanda Mainil Bursary for $1,000 went to Rhett Nikolejsin, who also received the second Matthew Mondor Memorial Scholarship for $1,500.
The Jim Rose Memorial Bursary for $1,000 went to Janus Rodriguez, along with a Kate Myers Scholarship for $1,000. The second Kate Myers Scholarship went to Hannah Bitz.
One of the two bursaries from the Latomia Masonic Lodge, for $250, went to Haley Dixon, who also received the RM of Weyburn Memorial Award for $500, one of the Legion bursaries for $1,000, the Violet Delrose Moore Memorial Scholarship for $500, and the Weyburn Kinsmen and Kinette Scholarship for $500.
The second bursary from the Masonic Lodge went to Maryalle Tan, who also received one of the Weyburn Rotary Club Scholarships for $1,500.
The Naylor Family Award for $500 went to Josh Mowchenko.
The Parrish & Heimbecker award for $400 went to Levi Woodard, who also received one of the Tony and Madeleine Moser Memorial Scholarships for $1,000.
The third Legion bursary for $1,000 went to Eric Joa.
The Saskatchewan Union of Nurses Local 63 annual bursary for $1,000 went to Alexis Ashworth.
The Sask. Youth Apprenticeship bursary for $1,000 went to Taylor Evans.
The Stewart Steel Bursary for $500 was awarded to Hunter Shanaida.
The third scholarship in memory of Tony and Madeleine Moser for $1,000 went to Spencer Anderson.
The Violet Delrose Moore English Scholarship for $500 went to Rebecca Mondor, while the Weyburn Comp Citizenship Award for $500 went to Ensley Akins.
The Weyburn Comp School’s Leadership Award for $500 went to Morgan King.
The Weyburn Comp School’s Student Scholarship for $1,000 went to Dawson Alexander, who also received one of the Weyburn Credit Union’s R.S. Williamson-Eliford Mott Memorial Scholarships for $1,000.
The other two recipients of the Credit Union scholarships were Tatum Abel and Zoe Molder, and Molder also received the second Rotary Club Scholarship for $1,500.
The Weyburn Fire Brigade bursary, in memory of Eric Lanktree, for $500 went to Autumn Lang.
The Weyburn Junior High Legacy award for $500 went to Kaj MacMurch
