Update: Severe thunderstorm watch ended for the southeast

Severe thunderstorm advisories were issued in the southeast.

UPDATE: The severe thunderstorm watch in the southeast has been lifted. The last advisory was lifted just after 11 p.m.

SOUTHEAST SASKATCHEWAN - Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the southeast region on Sunday.

The thunderstorm watch included the Estevan, Weyburn and Carlyle areas. A total of 28 RMs were covered. The advisory for the Estevan and Carlyle areas was lifted in the evening, and the watch for the Carlyle area came to an end just after 11 p.m. 

"A disturbance tracking across the Prairies will produce thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening over southern Saskatchewan and southwestern Manitoba," the thunderstorm watch states. "Some of these thunderstorms may become severe.

"Thunderstorms will start over southern Saskatchewan and move into Manitoba in the evening. Watches will likely be expanded eastward as the thunderstorms evolve."

Several thunderstorm warnings were issued in the far southeast corner of the province, and two separate tornado warnings were issued.
