REGINA — The Saskatchewan Health Authority Board of Directors has announced that CEO Scott Livingstone has resigned from his position, and an interim director will be stepping in.
Livingstone’s resignation is effective immediately, said the release, which offered no explanation for his sudden leave.
“The Board is grateful for Scott’s leadership during the creation of the SHA and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic,” said the statement.
Livingstone was the first CEO of the SHA following the amalgamation of all Saskatchewan health regions in 2017.
“As CEO, Scott demonstrated a commitment to patient- and family-centred care and provided stability during a time of substantial change and significant pressures on the health system due to COVID.”
Andrew Will has been chosen as the new interim CEO, and will move from his current role as vice-president of infrastructure, information and support to take the post immediately.
Will is the former acting CEO of the Saskatoon Health Region, and has also served in leadership positions in several other health regions in Saskatchewan and Alberta.
The SHA board will be searching for an individuals to take the role of CEO permanently, and will provide updates to the public as the process continues.
The board also assured the public that now operations or services will be affected by this transition.
