Eldon Maxie honoured by cottage association
Eldon Maxie retirement
Eldon Maxie retires after 39 years and is paid a special tribute.

The cottages association of White Bear Lake Resort held their annual meeting on July 31.

At this meeting they paid a special tribute to Eldon Maxie, or Edgey as he mostly known by. Maxie had served as the security for the resort for approximately 39 years, keeping the resort safe.

He was the right hand man for the RCMP, and was much respected for his courage and knowledge of the resort. He was awarded a bronze medal by Saskatchewan Lieutenant Governor Vaughan Solomon for an act of bravery when disarming an individual carrying a knife, trying to harm a cottager.

The association was humbled and honoured to pay tribute to Maxie by presenting him with a Chief Joseph Pendleton blanket and a gift of tobacco for his dedication to the resort.
