STARS responds to two-vehicle collision near Whitewood; 6 injured

Whitewood Fire Department says six people were injured, with three taken to Regina hospital, one by STARS ambulance.

WHITEWOOD - Whitewood Fire Department posted on social media that at 5:15 p.m. on Jan. 7 they were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision approximately four kilometres west of town.

They say that six people were injured, with three taken to Regina hospital. One was taken by STARS. The eastbound land of Highway 1 was closed for approximately 30 minutes while the patient was loaded into STARS.

On Saturday night, STARS tweeted that STAR-9 [Regina] was dispatched for a scene call emergency in the Whitewood, Sask., area.

The fire department said also responding to the collision were EMS from Whitewood, Grenfell and Moosomin, and the RCMP from Moosomin and Broadview.

Whitewood is located approximately 175 kilometres east of Regina on the Trans-Canada Highway Hwy 1.
