Suspect identified, charges laid in Regina’s eighth homicide of the year

Following investigation, one individual has been arrested and charged in Regina's most recent homicide in July.

Regina police have made an arrest in connection to a July homicide in the city.

REGINA — An investigation by Regina Police has led to the arrest and charging of one suspect in connection to the city’s most recent homicide. 

The Regina Police Service began a death investigation after 33-year-old Jason Bird was found injured in the early morning of July 15. 

Bird was transported to hospital and later succumbed to his injuries, making the incident the city’s eighth homicide in 2021. 

RPS members continued their investigation and identified a suspect on Aug. 4, who was then located and taken into custody. 

Terrance Desnomie, 27, from the Fort Qu’Appelle district has been charged with first degree murder, possession of stolen property, breach of release order and possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace. 

Desnomie made his first appearance before provincial court the morning of Aug. 6.
