Swift Current man faces weapons charges after warrant executed

Police seize suspected cocaine during search.

SWIFT CURRENT – A Swift Current man is facing numerous firearms charges in the wake of a warrant execution on May 31.

During that search, Swift Current Municipal RCMP seized around 500 grams of what they believe is cocaine (analysis is pending), a loaded prohibited firearm magazine, a loaded restricted firearm, and firearms parts.

As a result of this continued investigation, police arrested Taylor Weiss-Linder, 27, on June 2, and charged hime with single counts possession of a restricted firearm while prohibited, careless storage of a firearm, contravene storage regulations without lawful excuse, unlicensed possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm knowing it was unanthorized.

Weiss-Linder is scheduled to appear in Swift Current Provincial Court on June 12.
