This summer, Today’s Electronics in Redvers held a barbeque to help raise money for the new greenspace in the Village of Kenosee.
The barbeque consisted of a smoker grill demonstration that took place on the Canada Day long weekend at the Four Season’s Drop-In Centre in Kenosee. They ended up having a great turnout, with around 500 people coming out to support.
All the proceeds from the hotdogs and burgers that were sold went towards helping to fund the Greenspace in Kenosee. In total, they raised about $1,000, which was given to Kenosee this week.
The greenspace will be an added recreational area for the community. It includes a play structure, gazebo and changerooms among other things, with an outdoor rink also on its way.
Overall, Murray Aulie, the owner of Today’s Electronics and the one who organized the fundraiser, hopes that this donation will go towards helping the community of Kenosee.
“My donation I hope will bring a good recognition of the structures and facilities that Kenosee has to offer for the visiting families and the families that are there with the young and old. To have the facilities there for play structures and family gatherings, and just people gathering…it’s a great space.”
