Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the period of August 16 to August 22:

*On August 22, a male with no fixed address was arrested for outstanding warrants. He was also charged for assaulting a police officer, drug possession and breaching several conditions of his probation. He was remanded in custody.

*Police were called to investigate an alleged sexual assault. The suspect, who also had outstanding warrants, was taken into custody. The matter is under investigation.

*Police received a complaint of a stolen vehicle in the city. The matter is under investigation.

*A 17-year-old Weyburn male was arrested and charged with possessing a small amount of marijuana. He will be appearing in court in September.

*On August 21, a Weyburn male was arrested and charged with impaired driving and driving while over .08. He will be appearing in court in September.

*A Weyburn male was arrested and charged with shoplifting from a local store, the male also had an outstanding warrant. He will be appearing in court in September.

*On August 20, police attended a complaint regarding a theft from a vehicle. The matter is under investigation but residents are reminded to keep their doors locked and not to leave valuables in their vehicle.

*On August 19, police attended a complaint of a minor assault between a brother and sister. The matter is under investigation.

*On August 18, police attended a complaint of several vehicles having their tires slashed. The matter is under investigation.

*Police attended a two vehicle accident at the intersection of 16th Street and Highway 39. There were some minor injuries and one driver was charged with driving without due care and attention.

*On August 17, police arrested and charged a male in regards to a recent report of theft from a local scrap metal dealer in the city. One other male from Regina had already been charged.

*Police attended a complaint of a vehicles windows being smashed out, the matter was resolved shortly after.

*On August 16, police attended a hit and run accident at the Canadian Tire Store, the matter is under investigation.

*Police investigated a complaint regarding a stolen laptop computer. The matter is still under investigation.

*Police attended a complaint where a female claimed she was threatened by two other youths. The matter is under investigation.

*There were 160 calls for service during this reporting period, many of them alcohol related. Police also attended several domestic disputes and calls for disturbances and fights.
