"They are doing an excellent job," the city said in a news release.

There are several streets in the city blocked as of Thursday morning.

"The public is encouraged to stay off the streets until the streets have been cleared and safe for travelling on," the city said. "Several vehicles are stranded on the streets causing blockage; please use caution when travelling on the streets. It is important to drive for the road conditions."

The city assisted St. Joseph's Hospital staff in transporting employees to and from the hospital Thursday morning.

Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency equipment arrived Wednesday night to assist with transporting people in the city if they are stranded.
