The first day of winter is still more than a month away, but that hasn’t stopped Mother Nature from delivering a snow storm to southeast Saskatchewan.
The region was hit with several inches of snow during the overnight hours, and more snow has been falling Wednesday morning.
Crews have been out clearing snow from parking lots, and city employees have been removing snow from streets to keep them passable, especially in some of the hard-hit areas.
As of Wednesday morning, the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure had not been forced to close any roads in the southeast region due to the snow, nor did it issue Travel not Recommended advisories. However, it was reporting that winter conditions exist with heavy snow on the highways.
Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for southeast Saskatchewan Tuesday morning due to the approaching storm. That warning was lifted on Wednesday during the noon hour.
The Mercury will have more details as they become available.
