LIMERICK – Reaching the milestone of 110 years is a fine feat indeed, and a great excuse for a party.
That was the scene in the Village of Limerick over the weekend, as streets filled with locals and those from out of town to take in the festivities.
“Let’s bring the whole family to have fun for the whole day,” Brandy Gyman told SASKTODAY.ca. She’s the president of the Limerick Childcare Centre - the organization that planned and hosted the main event on Aug. 19.
There was something for everyone with around 40 vendors, a farmer’s market, car show, and concession. Visitors were also treated to live outdoor music courtesy Chad Tremblett, and the event was capped with fireworks after dark.
The younger set were quite busy with kids' activities all day, including a petting zoo.
Aside from marking the 110th year of the Saskatchewan centre, the event was also a fundraiser for the daycare.
