Weyburn Fire Brigade members receive service awards

WEYBURN – Mayor Marcel Roy presented service awards to members of the Weyburn Fire Brigade on Wednesday evening at the Weyburn Fire Hall.

Councillors Laura Morrissette and Jeff Richards were also in attendance for the presentations.

Below is a complete list of the years of service recognition:

Receiving the award for 35 years of service was George Kerr; and for 30 years, Harold Whiteoak, Don Struthers and Kevin Cooke.

Receiving recognition for 25 years of service were James Ereth and Michael Kaip, and for 20 years, Lindsey Leko and Jim Greig.

Recognition for 10 years of service went to Marc Schweitzer, Dean Schenk, Jeremy Van Roon, Lorin Bowerin and Rodney Lang.

Recognition for five years of service went to Tim Sawatzky, Charles Hignett, Michael Hudson, Katelyn Gateman, Ryan McLaren, Byron Shangraw and Andrew McMillan.

Some of the recipients for awards were not present on Wednesday evening.

(Note: Some received five-year recognition but are on seven years of service, so the recognition isn’t specific to their years of service, just their category for the recognition awards.)
