WEYBURN – The annual Festival of Trees fundraiser for the Family Place will finish with an online auction on Thursday, Nov. 30. The trees are on display at E. Bourassa and Sons on Highway 13 West in Weyburn.

This is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the Family Place, with funds raised to go towards operations of the family resource centre.

The online tree auction, with 22 decorated Christmas trees, will take place on Nov. 30, and will run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Besides being auction day for the trees on Nov. 30, Santa Claus will be at the E. Bourassa store from 10 to 11 a.m. for stories and photos.

A craft day was held on Tuesday, with activities like making a Christmas ornament and colouring Christmas pictures. To view the items or to place a bid, go to The Family Place 2023 Festival of Trees on Facebook.

For bidding online, bidding can be done by commenting on the picture of the item or tree with the amount of your bid, and they will each be numbered.

Bidders should ensure they select “most recent” or “all comments” for the most recent highest bid for each item or tree.

In the event there are two identical bids at closing, the bidders will be contacted for the opportunity to bid up, and the first one to respond will receive the item. Buyers should indicate the number of the item or tree they are paying for, and purchases can be by cash, cheque or e-transfer.
