As you are likely aware, we are hosting the Viterra Provincial Scotties Ladies Playoffs from Jan. 5 to 9. A formal kickoff was held in the Curling Lounge on Oct. 19 to enlist volunteers for the special occasion and to begin to sell event passes for the Scotties. The Curling Rink looks forward to hosting 12 of the best ladies’ rinks from our province to determine a provincial champ. Please call the office with any questions.
The curling facility will require proof of “double COVID vaccinations” for entrance to our club area for the coming winter. This is required by provincial regulations with operation of our lounge. Negative testing will not be accepted.
This includes all curlers, spectators, and visitors 18 years and older. Masks must be worn on “warm side of glass” unless eating or drinking a beverage. Masks may be worn on “cool side of glass” but are not compulsory. All people continue to be encouraged to social distance, wash hands often, and use hand sanitizer.
They will again offer basically the same leagues as last year. Monday nights will be for the Travelling League. Tuesday evenings will be our Non-Competitive league designed for families, students, and fun-seeking individuals and rinks. Games are six ends and special rates will apply.
Thursday nights will again be our Competitive Rec League night. Recreational Seniors curling will be held Monday and Wednesday afternoons at 1 p.m.
“Registration Night” for all leagues will be held on Thursday, Nov. 4 in the Curling Lounge from 7 to 9 p.m. Ice will be available to throw a few rocks and get the kinks out of the system from the extended summer break. If you miss it, please call the office @ 642-5115 and leave me a message.
The Curling Rink looks forward a safe and fun season! They always encourage new membership to join us so if interested, please drop in and let us know how we can help you. The best to you in curling for the coming year.
