Estevan hosting basketball tournaments to support food bank

A couple of basketball tournaments will happen at the Estevan Comprehensive School this weekend.

ESTEVAN - The Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs' senior and junior girls' basketball teams will host Holiday Classic tournaments this weekend at the school's gymnasium. 

Each division will have four teams entered, and they will play a round robin. There will not be championship games.

The senior girls will start off the tournament by playing the Assiniboia Composite High School on Dec. 8 at 3 p.m. Then they will play twice on Dec. 9, facing Moosomin's McNaughton High School at 1 p.m. and Indian Head High School at 5:30 p.m. 

The junior girls Elecs' first game will be Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. against Prince Albert's Carlton Comprehensive School. They will also play twice on Dec. 9 against Moose Jaw Peacock at 10 a.m. and Indian Head at 7 p.m. 

Admission to the games will be a cash donation or a non-perishable food items for the Estevan Salvation Army's food bank.
