Midale's Keely Shaw named top Saskatchewan athlete for August

Shaw continued to thrive in the Para-cycling world, winning a silver medal at the World Cycling Championships in Glasglow, Scotland.

SASKATOON - Midale's Keely Shaw has been named the Sask. Sport Athlete of the Month for August. 

Shaw continued her consistent performances in Para-cycling, with a silver medal at the World Cycling Championships in Glasglow, Scotland. 

Shaw, who now resides in Saskatoon, claimed the silver in the Women’s C4 Individual Pursuit on Aug. 8. She was the only Canadian to make the top four in C4 Individual Pursuit qualifiers. The Individual Pursuit is the same discipline Shaw claimed bronze in at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo nearly three years ago.

Shaw was nominated by Sask Cycling.

  • Michelle Harrison, athletics, nominated by Sask Athletics;
  • Ashley Leugner, wakeboard, nominated by Water Ski and Wakeboard Saskatchewan;
  • Trevor Mack, target shooting, nominated by Saskatchewan Target Shooting Association;
  • Team Pituley, female, lawn bowling, nominated by Bowls Sask;
  • Team Pituley, male, lawn bowling, nominated by Bowls Sask; and
  • McKenzie Schymko, lacrosse, nominated by Saskatchewan Lacrosse Association.
