Redvers Rams take silver at Kipling tournament

Kipling School’s Senior Boys Volleyball team (Magyars) hosted an exciting weekend of volleyball competition with 5 teams from across Saskatchewan including Redvers, Kipling, Montmartre, Moose Jaw and CCEC on Friday, Sept. 27th and Saturday, Sept.

Kipling School’s Senior Boys Volleyball team (Magyars) hosted an exciting weekend of volleyball competition with 5 teams from across Saskatchewan including Redvers, Kipling, Montmartre, Moose Jaw and CCEC on Friday, Sept. 27th and Saturday, Sept. 28th. Redvers Rams team members include six Grade 12 students Jon Ulmer, Oliver Poirier, Layne Chicoine, Merrick Sanborn, Joshua Selisana, Evan James; and five Grade 11 students Carson Longphee, Cole Poirier, Matthew Magotiaux, Carson Henrion, Owen Brownell, coached by Jeffrey Greening.

Throughout the weekend tournament were exciting matches between the senior teams with very good volleyball skills.

Following round robin games Kipling sat in first place winning all their matches throughout the day, followed by Moose Jaw in second, Redvers in third, CCEC in fourth and Montmartre in fifth.

Semi Finals: Kipling defeats CCEC 25-16, 25-12; Redvers defeats Moose Jaw 29-27, 25-22.

Bronze Medal Final: Moose Jaw defeats CCEC 25-9, 25-12.

Gold Medal Final: Kipling defeats Redvers 25-18, 25-17.

“The Redvers Rams Senior Boys Volleyball team played a strong game against Moose Jaw Cornerstone Falcons in the semi-final to advance to the gold medal game. In the end, they had to settle for second place as the Kipling Magyars defeated them in two sets,” comments coach Mr. Greening and adds “I would like to thank Kipling for hosting and parents for driving. All had a great time.”
