WEYBURN – High school students from schools throughout the southeast district converged on Weyburn for the district track meet on Wednesday.
The following are results for schools in the Weyburn region, for those athletes who placed first, second or third in their respective events.
From Fillmore 33 Central, intermediate girls athlete Anna Knapp won first in high jump, with Adisson Palmer coming in second; Knapp also placed second in the 200m race and 80m hurdles.
From Gladmar Regional School, intermediate athlete Jayda Tessier placed second in the 100m race, and third in javelin. Junior girls athlete Kaily Fradette placed third in discus and javelin, and for senior boys, Karson Thue was third in the 1500m race.
Midale Central School’s Lexi Harvey, in the junior girls category, placed second in high jump, long jump and triple jump.
From Ogema, intermediate boys athletes Ryder Dunn won first in triple jump and Wyatt Fuches placed third, and junior boys athlete Mark Mercano came second in the high jump.
From Pangman School, junior boys athlete Grayson West placed third in discus and shot put.
Radville’s intermediate girls athlete Megan Field placed third in the discus and shot put events.
Stoughton Central School had a number of athletes place in the top three at districts.
In intermediate boys, Brighton Coderre was second in the 100m, third in high jump and second in triple jump. For junior boys, Carson Baumgartner placed second in javelin and shot put.
For junior girls, Shelby Vogel came in second for discus, and for senior boys, Carter Goudy was third in 100m race and Jed Centeno was third in the 100m hurdles.
Graysen Goudy placed second in the 800m race, and Jaxon Tanner came in second in discus and javelin, with Vitalii Yurchenko placing third in javelin.
For senior girls, Yveian Orpiano won first in 100m, high jump and triple jump, and second in long jump. Jessica Baumgartner was third in shot put.
Easton Berner of Stoughton took part in the senior boys quadathlon, and placed third overall, with a second-place finish in 100m, first place in 800m, and fifth in long jump and shot put.
From Yellow Grass, junior girls athlete Faith Mackenzie won first place in the 100m and 200m races, and she was third in high jump. Lia Van der Meulen placed third in shot put for junior girls.
