On October 3, the Weyburn Bantam Raiders gathered at the South WeyburnCommunity Center to eat, visit and be rewarded. It was a beautiful sunnyday to have a potluck meal and just relax after three games in seven days.Each player received a t-shirt with the team logo and names on it. It willbe a great keepsake to remember the 2010 season. Rich Roy, head coach, spokeabout the season as a learning experience. He stated that the scores of theseason didn't always reflect the talent or skill or ability that each playershowed throughout the practices and games. The awards were handed out and each award recipient was given a trophy. TheBest Defence Award went to Levi Paslawski, the Best Offense went to GageWudrick, Most Improved went to Tom Gaber, Rookie of the Year went toNicholas Hillstead, Special Teams went to Drew Horack, and MVP went to RhettHutt. This year there was a new award called Raider Pride. It was given toJay Hopfe.As the afternoon came to a close, the players and coaches had a friendlygame of football and made plans for the final game. It is on October 16against the Yorkton Raiders.
