WEYBURN – The Weyburn Comp Eagles intermediate boys held a small home basketball tournament on Friday and Saturday.
The tournament was held on short notice at the WCS Eagle gym, and included a couple of games with the Comp Eagles senior girls basketball team as well.
The intermediate boys played twice on Friday and twice on Saturday, winning all four matches handily.
On Friday, the Eagles beat Oxbow by the score of 83-38, and then defeated Stoughton 88-53.
On Saturday, Weyburn beat Radville by 68-45, and played Oxbow a second time, defeating them 72-35.
The historic McLeod Series, which pits the senior boys and girls basketball teams from Weyburn and Estevan in a home-and-home series, will begin this year in Weyburn on Tuesday, Feb. 8.
The senior boys game will tip off first at 5p.m., followed by the senior girls game at 7 p.m., both in the Eagle gym.
