WEYBURN – The Weyburn Minor Ball Association received a donation of $25,000 from Kingston Midstream on Monday morning, to go towards a new ball diamond at Clark Park.
The company believes in supporting local non-profit organizations, charities and community initiatives through their Community Investment efforts, with support from their parent company, James Richardson and Sons Ltd.
Kingston Midstream provides funding opportunities three times a year through the Richardson Foundation, to organizations that provide services in the communities where they live and work.
The funds will go towards the irrigation for a new ball diamond under construction by Weyburn Minor Ball.
The new diamond will be for senior teams, and will be the same size as Tom Laing Park. Work will be underway this summer on the project by Minor Ball volunteers, said Minor Ball representative Shawn Whitrow, at the cheque presentation.
