Brian Keith Paul

June 23, 1949-August 5, 2016
Brian Keith Paul

Brian was born in Weyburn in 1949 to Keith and Clara Paul. He graduated from the Weyburn Comprehensive in 1967. After attending university in Saskatoon he came back to Weyburn and started working for the City. He was a hard working, dedicated employee of the City for 43 years, retiring in 2009. Dad was very proud of the street he had named after him in honour of his hard work. He had a lot of good friends while working there, and even still ran the lottery fund as long as possible so he could pop in at the shop and say ‘hi’. Brian married his sweetheart, Verna, in 1973. They lived at the airport for awhile before buying their family home on Staveley Crescent. In 1974 they welcomed a beautiful little girl into the world, Kelly, his angel. In 1976, Kristine was born. He loved his precious little girls more than anything! And in 1979 he got his little boy, Darren. The family was now complete. Dad loved us all and worked hard to support us and take care of us; thanks DAD! Dad was about as loyal as they come. To his family, his friends, his work, and his sports teams. Dad loved sports. The Blue Jays, the Vikings, and especially his Blackhawks were his teams through thick and thin. Darren and his dad had a special bond through sports, and it will never be the same not being able to talk sports with Dad. Brian also had a huge passion for music. He was always listening to the oldies and had a huge record collection. His love for that era of music has rubbed off on us kids. Thanks Dad. He also loved trivia and word puzzles. We would argue who got to have Dad for a Trivial Pursuit partner; he never lost! And when you popped over to the house, he would likely be working on a word puzzle. Dad had a very sharp mind; he also had a terrific witty sense of humour. He was a quiet man, but usually when he spoke up, he’d have people laughing. Brian also loved his dogs. Joey was his first special dog. He leaves Oscar and Ole behind; they were his special buddies and miss him! Dad had to go through the pain of losing a child. However, it now gives us peace that he is with Kelly forever. We will join you one day but until then, we know we have some special angels watching over us! You will be forever loved and forever missed! We love you and will miss you every day. XOXO
