Catherine Olive (English) Hunter

Catherine passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of Curtis and Sadie English of Glenavon. On March 12, 1936 Olive married Mel Hunter and thereafter she and Mel farmed near Fillmore until 1975 when they moved to Regina for six years and then retired and resided in Fillmore until Mel passed away. Olive moved to Marian Chateau in Regina in December, 2002 and resided there until December 2012. Due to failing health, Olive was very fortunate to receive wonderful care at Fillmore Health Centre until her death on June 12, 2013. Olive was predeceased by her parents, sisters, Edna Smith and Erma Waugh, her husband Mel (2001), two sons-in-law, Ed Moerike (2002) and Dave Johnson (2012). She is survived by her six daughters and one son and their spouses: Del (Dick) Snow, Saskatoon; Gail Moerike, Regina; Elaine Johnson, Caroline, AB; Sharon (Bob) Clay, Fillmore; Darla Hunter (Chuck Wilson), Victoria, BC; Ron (Carol) Hunter, Regina; Melvina (Orley) Treble, Fillmore; 18 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Her incredible legacy as a dedicated Mother, as a woman of courage, strength and fortitude as well as the multitude of delicious meals and baking she provided for her family over the years, will forever remain in our hearts. The family extends its deepest gratitude and thanks to Dr. Gibbons and to the wonderfully caring staff at Fillmore Health Centre. A private service of remembrance and internment will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Olive may be made to Fillmore Health Centre, Box 246, Fillmore, SK S0G 1N0.
