It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Marjorie on July 3, 2013. Marjorie, along with her older twin sister, Susan, was born on March 16, 1950 in Radville, daughters and the only children born to Rae and Edith Aldred of Ceylon. Marjorie was raised in Ceylon; growing up she was a happy but shy girl and loved animals. She took an active part in the Ceylon United Church, singing in the choir, attending Sunday school and was a member of the CGIT. The family moved to Craik in 1967 where Marjorie completed her schooling. The two girls then moved into Regina where Marjorie attended Success Business College. It was here that her great devotion to others grew as she was admired by all and was on the student council. Her first place of employment was Pearce Aqua Marin of Regina. Before leaving Ceylon her happy smile and sparkling eyes won the heart of a young Weyburn fellow, Ken Rubin. The couple was married in Regina on February 26, 1972; and thus began her happy life as a devoted wife. The couple moved to Brandon, MB where Marjorie took employment at the Brandon Hospital doing reception and accounting work. The couple soon moved to Edmonton, AB where Marjorie worked at the Edmonton Inn doing accounts receivable. In December 1973 their first son Aaron was born. Four years later Brent came along. Marjorie's world revolved around her sons and her family. Eventually Marjorie and Ken moved into a duplex in Bon Accord, AB with Marjorie's sister, Susan and her husband, Ron, moving in on the other side. Ken and Ron worked together, Marjorie worked and Susan took care of both families' children; there were six of them by now (Susan had three girls and a boy). In 1984 Ken moved back home to Weyburn to help his dad on the farm; the four of them moved into Ken's dad's house while they built their own on the Rubin family land. The house was completed in record time. In Weyburn, not only did Marjorie take care of her aging parents and Ken's father but also Ken's aunts, Helen and Angela, as well as working full time for Bob Dyck. She shared many fond memories of Bob, a wonderful employer who took good care of her. After that she worked for JCP Farms for 13 years, taking on several different duties. At the same time she was employed at the Utilities Board. In 2005 after Brent left the family business and moved to Vancouver, Marjorie joined the staff at SE Computer Solutions to support her son Aaron. She ran the shop for Aaron while he was out and about building networks and providing computer support to his many customers. Marjorie leaves a big hole in the family business as well as a big hole in our hearts. She was one of the most considerate and kind people you could ever know. Always giving and seldom taking. She had a great love for her family and especially her two sons. We are all proud and lucky to have called her mom, wife, grandma, aunt and friend. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents, Rae and Edith Aldred. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 41 years, Ken Rubin of Weyburn; sons, Aaron (Michelle) Rubin of Weyburn, and Brent (Patrick) Rubin of Vancouver, BC; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Tristan, Madison and their mother, Danielle Rubin of Weyburn, and Michelle's daughter, Caitlin Senger; twin sister, Susan (Dwight) Quistberg of Weyburn; nieces and nephew, Nicole (Dan) Borris of Flatbush, AB, Renea (Rod) Folk of Stoughton, Danielle (Derek) Hoffman of Stoughton, and Courtney (Tami) Creusot of Oxbow, as well as many great nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.A Memorial Service was held on Monday July 8, at 2:00 pm from Grace United Church with Reverend M. Barnabas officiating. A private family interment took place at Ceylon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Marjorie may be made to the STARS Regina Base, 2640 Airport Road Regina, SK S4W 1A3.
