Peter Ziolkowski passed away peacefully on September 7, 2013 at the age of 82 years. He is predeceased by his wife, Elsa and daughter Veronica, his parents Natalia and Wladimir Ziolkowski, sister Olga Forsberg and an infant brother, Paul. Peter was born in Poland on March 16, 1931. He came to Canada in May of 1948 settling in Yorkton. He moved to Weyburn in 1949 where he began his life long career in carpentry. He achieved his Journeyman in carpentry through Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon. He worked for Weyburn Builders and Weyburn Carpet and Glass for many years before establishing Ziolkowski Construction. Peter took great pride in his carpentry and woodworking skills, completing many woodworking projects for clients and family. After his retirement he continued to share his expertise in many construction projects as well as leaving lasting memories for family and friends through his woodwork pieces. Peter was always willing to lend a helping hand. Peter married Elsa in 1954 and together they raised five children. He took great pride in his family and enjoyed family gatherings. He leaves to mourn his children and grandchildren: Beverley (Anthony) Brannen, Jeffrey and Elyse; Dale (Laurie) Ziolkowski, Jennifer, Krysten (Mitch) Mathieu and Taylor; Kevin (Shelley) Ziolkowski, Kyle and Chelsea; Mark (Kelly) Ziolkowski, Noah and Ryan; brother Alex (Louise) Ziolkowski; brothers-in-law, Harry Forsberg, Ed (Lillian) Eisbrenner, Charlie (Priscilla) Quast, Ron Tribier, Wally (Bernie) Trieber, sister-in-law Lillian Tribiger and many nieces and nephews. His kind, gentle manner will be greatly missed by all whose lives he has touched. Visitation for Peter was held on Wednesday September 11 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at RD Family Funeral Chapel, Weyburn. A funeral service for Peter was held on Thursday, September 12 at 2:00 p.m. from the Zion Lutheran Church, Weyburn with Marj Mcleod CLA & Pastor Martin Olson, officiating. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn.
